Also, I wanted to say some things about my year (which seems to be the latest dA trend as 2008 finishes up). I could probably make a more serious journal about my year, but it's probably best to stick with the silly quiz
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Went to college
Went to my first (of 3, so far) college party
Moved into a dorm with a roommate I hadn't met before
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make?
2008- Didn't really make any
2009- Do well in my first year of college (haven't checked the grades, but I don't think I did as well as I could have), and declare my Political Science major
Become more active in more groups (seriously, you can't get much of a job with a Poli Sci degree when you're a bit anti-social :-/ )
Better control over my money (I tend to ignore we're in a recession :-/ )
Be less stubborn about trying to improve my art
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not unless my friend's cat, who gave birth to my kitten counts
Other than that, no, though a woman I know from church had a baby recently
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
Nada. Probably none in 2009, unless I make a quick trip to Mexico when I go to California this summer

More interest in schoolwork, and a WALL-E DVD
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory?
Whichever day I graduated from high school
August 31st...it's a bit difficult to explain, so I'll just say it was a good day
November 4th (for multiple reasons, though all good...in my opinion!)
December 12th- Chicago AND an Oasis concert. Though I nearly froze, I'd say it was a good day
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
...graduating high school? Really, this wasn't a major year for achievements as it was for fresh starts
9. What was your biggest failure?
It's a tie between A) Not making, what I feel, the most of my first semester in college, and B) "Put the past behind you" <- Just to say I can't even take advice from my favourite movie
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, right now

Barack Obama. I think I've become a self-proclaimed Obama girl this year.

Proposition 8 in California...I'm a huge supporter for equal rights for all, especially LGBT, so it really irked me when this got passed.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Anyone from College Democrats and my dorm, especially my roommate. And I met one of my greatest friends this year, and for that I'm thankful
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift - that is why it is called a Present"
Thank the turtle from Kung Fu Panda for telling me to accept life the way it is!
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Well now I'm back at home and
I'm looking forward to this life I live
You know it's gonna haunt me
So hesitation to this life I give
You think you might cross over
You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea
You better look it over
Before you make that leap
